On the seven year anniversary of the slaying of 33-year-old Naython Brown, of Philadelphia, law enforcement officials are reminding members of the public that there is a $5,000 reward available for information that solves Brown’s murder.

On Monday morning, officials with the Pennsylvania State Police shared details on the reward and Brown’s killing, that happened at about 9:28 p.m. on Oct. 19, 2019, along I-95 in Chester Township.

According to police, at that time, troopers were called on the report of a deceased individual on a grassy median that separates I-95 from an exit for the Commodore Barry Bridge.

Here, officials said, troopers found Brown after he had been shot in the head.

An investigation at the scene showed Brown had experienced car trouble that evening while headed from Philadelphia to Chester and had pulled a white Chevrolet Monte Carlo to the side of the road after it became disabled due to a flat tire.

Police believe Brown was shot in the head as he waited at the roadside for assistance with his vehicle.

A $5,000 reward is being offered for information that solves this case.

Police are asking anyone who may have information that can solve this case to contact the Pennsylvania State Police’s criminal investigation unit at 215-452-5216, the state police’s tip line at 1-800-472-8477 or via an online form available here.

State police officials said that all callers to the tip line could be eligible for the cash reward for providing information that leads to an arrest, the solving of a crime/cold case or the location of a wanted person/fugitive or missing person.

All unsolved cases have a reward offered for information that solves the case and, police officials noted that this reward money is not paid by taxpayers.
